Democracy is being attacked

A quote from Sinclair Lewis: When fascism comes to America it will be wrapped in a flag and carrying a cross.

Well folks, fascism is here now and if it is not stopped soon, we will be living in a fascist country that can be more accurately termed as “corporatism”.

Let’s look at what fascism entails:

Powerful and continuing nationalism (this is commonly referred to as patriotism or the spirit or aspirations common to a whole nation)

A disdain for human rights.

Identification of enemies as a unifying cause.

Military supremacy.

Rampant sexism.

Controlled mass media.

Obsession with National Security.

Religion and government intertwined.

Corporate power protected.

Labor power suppressed.

Disdain for intellectuals and the arts (probably can include science and history here).

Obsession with crime and punishment.

Rampant cronyism and corruption.

And last but certainly not least, fraudulent elections (read this as the recent rash of voter restrictive laws passed in “red” states with the weakening of the Civil Rights Act, thanks to a right leaning SCOTUS).

Can you now see why I am so concerned about the direction of the republican party and the (monied) influence of the Koch brothers to affect our elections with the (selfish and greedy) ultimate goal of controlling government, so they can remove roadblocks (in their eyes) to their amassing of even more billions?

Look at this list of reasons and then if you have any cognitive abilities left, you should be able to see the danger that is threatening the democracy of the United States of America.

Thank you for reading,

In the words of a much smarter man than I——-
