The World Must Lose It’s Delusion and Face the Truth

I have never believed in God…… I was agnostic about it for years and ambiguous to it at best.

Enter the age of retirement and the vast amount of information available on the internet. Things that were previously difficult to investigate, now become commonplace and there is nearly an infinity of information available. You just have to sort out the information that can be proven as true from the (again a vast amount) information that can be dismissed as conjecture, opinion or just plain made up lies that attempt to pass as truth.

Ahh, yes, TRUTH.

While all through my so-called “work life” I had never the time to, or the curiosity for exploring just what it is that makes so many people accept their particular brand of religion (there are 41,000 denominations of Christianity alone, without ever getting into Judaism or Islam) as the ONLY true religion, and the rejection of all the others as wrong.

Well I cannot put all what I have learned about religion, the Bible, Jesus and God into words as the more I write, the less clear I can become sometimes. So as an alternative I’ll be posting a random series with links to videos and articles made by the people who have tirelessly pursued the subject.

Today I’ll just put out one link to one video that I believe will fulfill my part of educating as many as possible, and doing my best as an online epistemologist, or better put, for the purpose of providing tools to use reason and research to help relieve people of their faith and help them accept reason and facts rather than myths and fairy tales.

The future of this planet, I believe hinges on getting as many people to examine their delusion of God and Muhammad, as these are the two main offshoots of these ancient manuscripts and the source of the delusion of billions of people.

The way to change the world is to change people’s minds. As more and more people openly discuss the fact that “God” and “Allah” are completely imaginary, the world becomes a better place.

Here goes… Watch this short video:

Remember we need not abandon religion completely, but knowing what’s rational and what can be dismissed as superstition is important for us to ever find a path to truth and [real] peace on earth

How the Charleston Shooting Revealed America’s Shame

BY MICHELLE SIMMONS ON JUNE 19, 2015 GUN CONTROL, NEWS, RELIGION

A killer blatantly states that nine Americans were killed for their skin color, and America is still in denial

There have been two shootings at predominantly black churches in the past two days. One was in Memphis,Tennessee, and the other in Charleston, South Carolina. The shooting in Charleston was at the Emanuel First AME church and resulted in nine casualties, all black Christians.

The media is exploding with propaganda about everything from religious freedom, more guns as a means of prevention, a war on Christians, and the shooter, Dylan Storm Roof is mentally ill. Anything but racism.

For the Emmanuel First AME church, this is only one racist incident in the churches 200 year history. “This historic congregation, the oldest of its kind in the South, had already seen more than its fair share of tumult and hate. It was founded by worshipers fleeing racism and burned to the ground for its connection with a thwarted slave revolt. For years, its meetings were conducted in secret to evade laws that banned all-black services. It was jolted by an earthquake in 1886. Civil rights luminaries spoke from its pulpit and led marches from its steps. For nearly 200 years it had been the site of struggle, resistance and change,” according to the Washington Post. It should be noted that South Carolina is where the Civil War started.

When Dylan Storm Roof was found, he was taken into custody without incident, and is still alive despite having a criminal record, an excuse used in many police brutality situations with blacks. A friend of Roof’s admitted that this attack had been planned for six months and that he wanted to start a civil war. Why this friend never said anything to anyone before is a mystery.

According to Roof’s uncle, he was given a gun by his father for is 21st birthday. However, he had been arrested twice in the last few months and is awaiting trial on felony for possession. Yet he still had a gun. The same gun his father gave him. In other words, murder by proxy.

If not for a loophole in the gun laws in South Carolina, Roof and his father would not have been able to obtain a gun with felony charges pending. Federally licensed gun stores would have seen the pending charges and denied the sale. However, in South Carolina, there are no background checks required for private gun sales. Gun control activists call this the “private sale” loophole. In South Carolina, you don’t have to do a background check, so private citizens can freely exchange guns. This loophole exists in 40 states.

Dylan Storm Roof may be a loner but he is not alone in his goal. His statement before shooting was loud, clear and blatantly racist:

“I have to do it. You rape our women and you’re taking over our country. And you have to go.

Systemic racism has reared its ugly head with a vengeance within the Christian Terrorist Movement. The amount of white supremacist hate groups have doubled in the last six years and paranoia has reached critical mass.

In November, 2014, Larry McQuilliams opened fire in the downtown area of Austin, Texas. The only casualty was McQuilliams himself but the damage could have been so much worse. According to the Austin police chief, McQuilliams had several rounds of ammunition and a map of 34 other targets – including several churches.

According to the Associated Press, police officers found a copy of “Vigilantes of Christendom” a book connected to white supremacist movement that clams Christian inspiration and opposes interracial intercourse, integration, homosexuality and abortion. Other members of this movement are notoriously violent, and some members have been convicted of several violent crimes including blowing up government buildings and abortion clinics. Terrorism enacted in the name of Christ. Sounds familiar.

Violence carried out in the name of Christianity is nothing new. For over a century, the Ku Klux Klan has been known for gruesome crimes against Blacks, Catholics, Jews all while referring to what they say is Christian theology. Several splinter groups of the KKK have started their own groups and are home grown but still organized.

News pundits say this was a hate crime and that he is a lone wolf. The religious right wing refuses to call this an act of terrorism or hate. No mention of race even though Facebook pages have been created to help with the criminal defense of Roof. We’ve yet to find anything on Facebook under the victim’s names. Typical of Americans to rally around a racist terrorist massacring attendees of a Bible study. A Bible study he sat through for one hour before opening fire.

To add salt to the wound, the Confederate flag is still flying at the South Carolina statehouse.

So to the NRA supporters and leadership, are you happy now? The enemy is you. How many lives need to be lost before your organization’s blood thirst is quenched? Arming every man, woman and child so they can shoot at one another.

The Second Amendment was intended to allow well regulated militias to go and capture escaped slaves who were property of the wealthy. The biggest lie the NRA tells is that it is about “protecting freedom” when the opposite is true.

“If they can ban one, they can ban them all!” That’s what Wayne La Pierre said last April at the NRA Convention. Gun culture is literally a tenet of faith in red states. Rick Santorum claims the Charleston shooting is Christian persecution. Mike Huckabee’s book isn’t called God, Guns, Grits and Gravy for nothing.

GTY_beyonce_huckabee_ll_150118_16x9_992
Do you blame Christian extremists or Beyonce for America’s troubles? Hint; the answer isn’t wearing a hat in this picture.
Huckabee’s message has been clear. Beyonce lyrics are why society is falling apart. Let’s not address economic inequality and injustice threatening to rip our society apart, everything will be fine if all of us are armed. Everyone white that is. Arming those black thugs and rioters is not what the NRA wants at all.

Their hypocritical stance is plain in its obvious racism. Christian hack and pro gun activist, Bryan Fischer, sent out a Tweet that says, “Misguided bans on guns in houses of worship turned this black church in South Carolina into a shooting gallery. Nobody could shoot back.”

There are no sanctuaries left in America. The shock and outrage will dissipate and we’ll move onto the next act of violence at the hands of someone who should have never been allowed to be near a firearm. Shootings in schools. Shootings on military bases. Now, shootings in churches.

Every time Americans fail to challenge gun lobbies, who could not be more clearly be evil if they tried, gun violence gets stepped up another notch. We did nothing when our children got shot to death. Now we’ll do nothing while racist monsters kill church goers. And the NRA gets richer. In the meantime, blame Beyonce and pass the gravy.

Gun lobbies think America is full of the stupid and the weak. And we keep on proving them right.

“Al-Qaeda, ISIS, all those guys? They’re not shit compared to the damage we can do to ourselves.” ~ Jon Stewart

Welcome to New California

Dear Red States:

We’ve decided we’re leaving. We intend to form our own country, and we’re taking the other Blue States with us.

In case you aren’t aware, that includes Hawaii, Oregon, Washington, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois and all of the Northeast. We believe this split will be beneficial to the nation, and especially to the people of the new country of New California.

To sum up briefly:

You get Texas, Oklahoma and all the slave states. We get stem cell research and the best beaches.

We get Elliot Spitzer. You get Ken Lay.

We get the Statue of Liberty. You get Dollywood.

We get Intel and Microsoft. You get WorldCom.

We get Harvard. You get Ole’ Miss.

We get 85 percent of America’s venture capital and entrepreneurs. You get Alabama.

We get two-thirds of the tax revenue. You get to make the red states pay their fair share.

Since our aggregate divorce rate is 22 percent lower than the Christian Coalition’s, we get a bunch of happy families. You get a bunch of single moms.

Please be aware that Nuevo California will be pro-choice and anti-war, and we’re going to want all our citizens back from Iraq at once. If you need people to fight, ask your evangelicals. They have kids they’re apparently willing to send to their deaths for no purpose, and they don’t care if you don’t show pictures of their children’s caskets coming home. We do wish you success in Iraq, and hope that the WMDs turn up, but we’re not willing to spend our resources in Bush’s Quagmire.

With the Blue States in hand, we will have firm control of 80 percent of the country’s fresh water, more than 90 percent of the pineapple and lettuce, 92 percent of the nation’s fresh fruit, 95 percent of America’s quality wines (you can serve French wines at state dinners) 90 percent of all cheese, 90 percent of the high tech industry, most of the U.S. low-sulfur coal, all living redwoods, sequoias and condors, all the Ivy and Seven Sister schools, plus Stanford, Cal Tech, MIT, and University of California.

With the Red States, on the other hand, you will have to cope with 88 percent of all obese Americans (and their projected health care costs), 92 percent of all U.S. mosquitoes, nearly 100 percent of the tornadoes, 90 percent of the hurricanes, 99 percent of all Southern Baptists, virtually 100 percent of all televangelists, Rush Limbaugh, Bob Jones University, Clemson and the University of Georgia.

We get Hollywood and Yosemite, thank you.

Additionally, 38 percent of those in the Red states believe Jonah was actually swallowed by a whale, 62 percent believe life is sacred unless we’re discussing the death penalty or gun laws, 44 percent say that evolution is only a theory, 53 percent that Saddam was involved in 9/11 and 61 percent of you crazy bastards believe you are people with higher morals then we lefties.

By the way, we’re taking the good pot, too. You can have that dirt weed they grow in Mexico.

Peace out,

California

Monsanto, The EPA and SCOTUS

Just a thought as I was reading some information today about Monsanto.

First some numbers: 2011 Net Sales = $11-8 Billion

404 Facilities in 66 Countries on 6 Continents

282 Million Acres Globally covered with their products

40% of U.S. crop

$829,662 for Political Campaign Contributions 2000-2012

$62,356.730 For Lobbying form 2000-2012

I noticed that for the net sales in only one year (2011) of $11+ billion and putting aside facilities, acres covered and crops, that their PC contributions and the money spent on Lobbying seems to be quite miniscule.

Take the 13 total years of political campaign contributions and lobbying money and dividing it by an average yearly amount comes to: $63,820 for PC Contributions and $4,796,671 per year average for Lobbying.

That’s an amount, which subjected to average numbers per year, may or may not reflect what was spent in 2011 but it’s all the data I have here.

And to me the numbers just don’t add up when you realize how much actual influence Monsanto seems to have when it comes to GMO labeling, EPA regualtions that have been relaxed and how hard it is to make public accurate information on the products that are now, and have been in the past, damaging to our people, land and water.

Do you see what I see?

It seems a mealsy amount of influence pedaling to me when compared to 2011 net sales. There must be some other way they have to assure their dominance in a field where there is “competition” from Dow Chemical, Bayer Chemical Division and a host of other small companies.

I am going to offer an opinion here about how hard it is to get their attention and some answers about the products that they dispense with so much impunity.

Enter SCOTUS judge Clarance Thomas.

He was confirmed in 1990 after a tenous hearing process where it surfaced that he may have sexually harassed Anita Hill. In Hill’s words, from the confirmation hearings, Hill was called to testify at Thomas’s confirmation hearings. She testified that Thomas had subjected her to comments of a sexual nature, which she felt constituted sexual harassment or at least “behavior that is unbefitting an individual who will be a member of the Court.” Then he was approved anyway.

Before becoming a Supreme Court Judge he also served as an attorney for Monsanto in 1976-? and then he joined the Reagan Administration in 1981 as the administrator of the U.S.Department of Education, but that is beside the point.

The main point is that it appears to me, that along with his other 4 conservative cronies of the SCOTUS, that they may have been doing some legislative favors for Monsanto. With Thomas’ connection to that company I’m sure he still remains in contact with, and is even friends with some of the board members and executives. Hard to disappoint old friends…………..

I have no proof of any wrongdoing but the connection is and has been scrutinized for many years.

I just thought that maybe it was time to bring it all up again.

I believe that it’s time for another 8 years of the Democratic Party in the White House and in all state governorships too. It’s way past time the pendulum swung the other way as the conservatives are too willing to bend to the wishes of comapnies like Monsanto and other big business organizations.

The next approved SCOTUS members MUST be liberal as we can see that this conservative court cannot act according to our constitution and the will of the majority of Americans.

Why America Needs Bernie Sanders

America needs to elect Bernie Sanders for president of the United States of America.

His consistency and steadfastness in his vision of what America needs has been and will remain as it has for over thirty years. He has never wavered from what that is and that is refreshing. He is just what this country needs in the White House.

But little can be done in a progressive way without a supporting congress to make it to happen, therefore, we must get the Democratic voters out in earnest to vote in 2016. Without a democratic congress to help, the possibility of addressing what is most needed in America cannot get done.

The thought of a republican in the White House with a supporting congress scares the hell out of me. Can you envision a fascist government with theocratic overtones?

My advise is this, the GOP clown car is overloaded with a lot of non-viable candidates right now, but by this time next year many of them will be gone, (perhaps even some in prison, where they belong) and the chaff that is left will, in my opinion, be Rand Paul, Scott Walker (his candidacy is the one that is most under the control of the Koch brothers and their billions, even though he also faces legal problems too) and dear old Jeb (the Nazi created dynasty) Bush.

Of these I think that Rand Paul has that best chance of getting the nomination for the GOP (Greedy Old Pricks) and his appeal to the younger voters I have been talking to, posesses a clear danger to our democracy.

These younger voters may be mesmerized by Paul’s stance on a few issues (I may even agree with him on some of them) that they are familiar with and these young people are (understandably) not as aware of the danger underneath, and that is that Paul sides too much with the general GOP agenda of NOT raising the minimum wage, NOT taking on the military industrial complex (is it ever), NOT securing universal healthcare for all, NOT improving our justice system so it is fairer for everyone, NOT getting rid of charter schools (that take public money for uncontrolled private schools), or private prisons (that are nothing more than modern day slavery), NOT canceling these so called religious freedom bills that are surfacing on an ongoing basis today, and possibly most importantly, NOT taking on the big oil companies and addressing the massive problem of climate change.

There will be a lot of things going on in the coming months but by late next summer the picture should be somewhat clearer. Until then, keep learning as much as you can about the policies of the candidates and what the whole picture of another GOP presidency would likely be.

In this writer’s humble opinion America’s democracy will not survive another republican in the White House and that is what scares me the most.
