Fanatical extremists ARE the problem

It matters not which brand of God you favor, they are all imaginary.

When considering the mass murder in Orlando (06/11/16) there is no difference between that and any of the other of the too numerous to mention mass murders in the last 30 (or so) years.

Some were done by people that hate government (McVeigh) and others, which consists the majority of them, were committed by Christian or Islamic extremists. Mostly Christians.

Each religion has it’s extremists. These are dangerous people when they take their brand of ‘god’ as the right one and try to carry out his “plan” for living a righteous life, and if they still buy into the myth that there will be a reward in the afterlife, then this one life (that we know of empirically) becomes disposable to them in their deluded minds.

Comparing one (Abraham, Mohammed, John Smith or L. Ron Hubbard, or any of the thousands of sects in each) religion to another is like comparing a California orange to one from Florida.

I think that reason and logic need to be the main theme here and that all secular governments, like the USA and other non-theological countries need to come out and speak the truth about all religion.

Until reason and logic become accepted and the hypocrisy in all religious texts is considered, then put into rational thought, there can be no such advancement of equality and justice for all.

The fact is that there is no proof that anything written in ancient times is true, nor can it be confirmed empirically, therefore logic confirms that all these religions are nothing but myths (and stories passed on from one generation to another) and should be treated as so.

Until that happens and people are required to read the books of the Bible, Q’ran or Torah in an open minded and critical thinking state, where reasonable people can see the hypocrisy in all religious texts, nothing permanent will change.

Since we are over 2000 years removed (over 1400 for Mohamed) from any new things from their respective, so called God, and if we are so important to this God, then why, with all his supposed all knowing/all powerful attributes, does he not send us a new message to confirm this?

It certainly is within the realm of possibility for him if you believe in your brand of scripture, so what’s the problem?

I can tell you why with 99.9% certainty that the only logical reason is, is that God is imaginary.

We know that all scriptures are the product of ancient people that thought that the earth was flat and didn’t know where the sun went at night. There is no magic here (no talking snakes, talking/burning bushes or great floods where millions of species lived for over a year on a tiny, fragile boat) and there never was.

The bible, or any other scriptures, are not proof of anything, but merely stories that were most times passed down in speech since 90% of all people living in that time period were illiterate.

Try this at a party; start an untrue rumor at one end of the room and tell everyone to pass it on, then see how accurate it remains when it gets to the other end of the room. A simple experiment (damn, there’s that goddamn logic and science again!!!) that will show how these things get blown out of proportion.

All religion and all ‘gods’ are merely the product of the minds of men (that should also be noted) during early civilization in a time when there was little (if any) science and what there was, was considered as the evil work of man, so myths and fairy tales were the normal way of thinking then.

Is that too much to ask?

God didn’t write the Bible (buybull), the Bible wrote ‘god’………

Of Rights and Regulation

About this terrible shooting  by Omar Mateen in Orlando, Florida last weekend. Here is some weight I have to get off my conscience. It goes like this;

This shooter should never have had access to the weapon used, but because of our laws, that so far have served the purpose they were intended to, he was.

Why is that?

Our constitution is supposed to guarantee certain inalienable rights. The second amendment says we have the right to bear arms, but it also says that privilege is limited to “a well regulated Militia” and we now have the National Guard for that purpose. That still leaves open the definition of what constitutes a Militia. Is it run by the government? Then it is not a true Militia.

The other part of the 2nd Amendment that says that “the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed”; is also open to interpretation, an interpretation widely held by some people to be absolute without any restrictions. But that one is too vague on it’s face.

This man involved had been on an FBI or Homeland Security watch list and that is where I have a problem. Our government is supposed to be of the people, by the people and for the people, yet we have our own government virtually spying on it’s own citizens and that is unconstitutional in my estimation.

The 14th Amendment is about civil rights and basically says, and this is supposed to apply nationally, that; “No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges and or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection under the law.

This man had been spied on and evaluated and yet he still got a weapon and was still not denied his right to bear arms even with the spying. So we’re supposed to think that this spy system we have now gives us a sense of security? It sure doesn’t me. It must be eliminated.

One former president said that those that give up any rights and expect to gain security lose their rights and have no security (paraphrased of course).

He’s the problem. Assault type weapons. No one should have the right to any gun that has clips that require virtually no reloading, shots that can be fired as fast as one can pull the trigger, can be altered to full automatic easily and are basically weapons that only a trained military enlisted person should own. Why? Because they have just one purpose, to kill as many people as fast as possible.

That’s my interpretation of the 2nd and 14th Amendments and although I believe that this man had yet to commit any felony and therefore should not have been spied on, he had all the rights to these weapons just like any other U.S. citizen.

It’s the weapons that are so easily available is what needs to change here. Not the constitution, but the changing of some constitutionally legal laws designed to do some “well regulating” if you will.

This tragedy might have been prevented with a federal law that bans ALL assault type semi-automatic rifles.

I believe that also to have a real lasting effect the ban should also include any hand gun with the same features (semi-auto, clip fed, easily altered).

This stance, or opinion if you prefer and I expect to be called out. Be my guest.

This is legal to do and should be done. As for the whole spying thing, another day another subject.

When is the Gun Violence Enough to Enact Some Real Changes?

Another mass killing in Orlando and yet some want to pass the blame away from guns and towards terrorism.

Another mass shooting in Orlando, Florida, and once again we have the pundits on Fox (is not) News going on TV and repeatedly spouting the lie that this is NOT about guns, it’s about terrorism. WTF?

Of course it’s about guns.

It’s about the ease in which one can obtain weapons that are designed to do only one thing, kill people.

It’s about knowing there are people that should never have any kind of gun, yet they can obtain any weapon they choose through gun shows and straw purchases or other means.

It’s about the attention (to a radical view be it a religious one or not) one person can attain, even though in many cases it’s posthumously, when using guns with the ability to kill dozens in a matter of seconds.

When are we going to have the balls to demand a change, to take measures to reduce this massacre?

Unless we are willing to face the fact that without some radical measures to limit the type of weapons that are legal to have, the amount of ammunition one person can legally possess, addressing the mental health issue or even the total confiscation of ALL privately owned guns, (don’t get your tidy whiteys in a bunch, that’s not what I am advocating here) there will be no change, or chance of any change.

I should go into the elected representatives, um, republican representatives that refuse to even pass one simple measure to make it harder to get any gun, won’t support a ban on assault type weapons, won’t close the loopholes that are used daily by people filled with hate and mental problems, but I believe I’ve said enough.

Oh, one more thing. Vote out all these idiots that refuse to do what a majority of Americans want and vote for those that will act on the will of the people and are willing to make these much needed changes.

Until that happens, get ready for another news flash about another mass shooting somewhere in America, maybe even in you own backyard.

Why Bernie Or Bust must succeed

The supporters of Hillary Clinton are trying to place the blame on Bernie supporters if she should happen to lose in November.

As it is said many times that this election will be decided on the internet, and I believe that is an accurate statement. When watching mainstream media on TV you can see why this is thought of like that as there is a monumental difference in the coverage given to the main three candidates left, Bernie Sanders, Hillary Clinton and [sociopath] Donald Trump (also know as Drumpf or the Trump Nazi).

Here is why placing blame on Bernie supporters if in fact Hillary should (god forbid) lose in November to Trump is wrong.

There are many valid reasons why we as Bernie Sanders supporters are not to blame if Hillary fails.

1. Hillary has too many ties to big banking, big pharmacy and her past ties to Monsanto and even more disturbing, Walmart.

2. Believing that she will not owe favors to these companies that have given her millions in donations (some that are even under investigation by the FBI and IRS for racketeering) is just not using your brain and critical thinking to see that that is foolish.

3. Hillary either was or still is on the wrong side of the most important progressive social changes that Bernie has been behind for 4 decades, like universal healthcare as a right, raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour (Hillary has said that $12 was enough but studies prove that to be shortsighted).

Then there are other things where she is either on the wrong side of, or has been in the past, and has only recently changed her position because of Bernie raising public awareness on these things.

4. Hillary has not come out and said that she is against the Keystone pipeline, or for prepaid college tuition, strengthening Social Security, against the (disastrous) TPP Trade Agreement, for paid family leave for births, deaths and other family needs or child care pre-K, to name some.

These are just some of the things that give me and others pause when it comes to voting for her. She is too much the status quo and not nearly the progressive we need in this critical part of our history.

In fact, I believe that this election may be out last chance to save our government from becoming a 100% fascist oligarchy.

Don’t get me wrong, I agree with all people that know how much of a disaster a Trump presidency would be, but the way to insure that does not happen lies more with making Bernie the candidate and less with having Hillary the nominee.

But if Hillary is the nominee, all that means is that we are in for a bumpy ride with either Hillary or, even more so with Trump and once again progress is denied.

So in conclusion, Hillary could very well lose the election to Trump. She does not poll well against him like Bernie does. All the polls put Bernie beating Trump by double digit margins and Hillary is either in a dead heat or actually LOSES to Trump. Unacceptable!

We can and must do better.

#BernieOrBust, it’s not just a slogan, it’s our future and more importantly, the future or our children and their children and all generations to come.
