Trump, a week to remember (regret?)

This has been a year a lot of us would like to forget.

Let’s take a look at the week of January 20 through January 27, 2017….

  1. The inauguration crowd that he bragged was the biggest ever (it wasn’t, it was only about one half of the crowd size of Barack Obama’s in 2009) was the first lie that will have to be recorded in the annals of history. In his inaugural address Trump said, and I quote, “This American carnage stops right here and right now”….. funny thing is, crime has been on the decline for the last 25 years. A FACT that he would now classify as “fake news”.
  2. The firing of Sally Yates because she wouldn’t bow down to him (mainly) and the warning of her, former President Obama and others about Flynn and his connections that are suspicious at best and criminal on their face in, what later will become obvious. White House counsel, Donald McGahn remains clueless.
  3. His first attempt at a Muslim ban from seven Middle Eastern countries that have not killed a single American (while allowing other countries in that region that have actually killed Americans to be exempt)… That triggered protests in airports in New York, Chicago, San Francisco and Seattle because of this hypocrisy, (even some with valid “green cards” were banned).
  4. The result of which causes his low approval rating (less than 35%) and it makes him the fastest president (a term I regret I am forced to use) to ever reach such lows.
  5. One thing he did do was get an unfit person, Neil Gorsuch, appointed, with the help of a Republican majority, to the SCOTUS. There’ll be more on this in the coming year as the 2018 court session begins since there are many controversial decisions on the docket.
  6. Then there are his worst excesses. Rewriting immigration laws. Building a ridiculous and unneeded wall on the U.S./Mexico border. And last but not least, his budding but about to be excessive attacks on the Freedom of the Press.                        That is all for now, but his first week was certainly a preview of what we now can see was to come. Not good.

A dear John letter to John Deere

This is a little known trend that has already started and will be nearly impossible to eradicate unless arrested soon.

For hundreds of years the American farmer, car buffs, emerging engineers and others have been know to tinker with a thing or two. You know, the American way?

Those days may be numbered…..

What I am referring to is a little known [ALEC influenced] law you won’t likely see mentioned on mainstream media and will certainly will not hear about from the lawmakers that passed it, or any lawmakers for that matter.

I’m talking about what is called “repair prevention” and it’s being pushed by major manufacturers. It’s an attempt to corporatize the idea of ownership.

Today a lot of the manufactured goods you buy contain software, from a beard trimmer to a bulldozer. When you buy an item it should be yours to do with as you please and that should include the right to “fix” the thing you own, as we have done in the past.

Then comes this…. Maybe you’ve signed one yourself….. it’s called an “End User License Agreement”, or EULA. This agreement you signed has buried in the “find print” is a clause that forbids anyone from attempting, or doing, repairs or alterations to it.

John Deere has a doozy of a EULA…

More about it here:

Without going any further into this now, I suggest you click on the links provided and I will update this as new information becomes available.

Meanwhile, if you own an Apple cell phone 6 or later, do not attempt to fix it without taking it to a licensed Apple outlet. If you do you may end up with a locked device with “Error 53” on the display and at that point it’s value is only as a paperweight.

The World Must Lose It’s Delusion and Face the Truth

I have never believed in God…… I was agnostic about it for years and ambiguous to it at best.

Enter the age of retirement and the vast amount of information available on the internet. Things that were previously difficult to investigate, now become commonplace and there is nearly an infinity of information available. You just have to sort out the information that can be proven as true from the (again a vast amount) information that can be dismissed as conjecture, opinion or just plain made up lies that attempt to pass as truth.

Ahh, yes, TRUTH.

While all through my so-called “work life” I had never the time to, or the curiosity for exploring just what it is that makes so many people accept their particular brand of religion (there are 41,000 denominations of Christianity alone, without ever getting into Judaism or Islam) as the ONLY true religion, and the rejection of all the others as wrong.

Well I cannot put all what I have learned about religion, the Bible, Jesus and God into words as the more I write, the less clear I can become sometimes. So as an alternative I’ll be posting a random series with links to videos and articles made by the people who have tirelessly pursued the subject.

Today I’ll just put out one link to one video that I believe will fulfill my part of educating as many as possible, and doing my best as an online epistemologist, or better put, for the purpose of providing tools to use reason and research to help relieve people of their faith and help them accept reason and facts rather than myths and fairy tales.

The future of this planet, I believe hinges on getting as many people to examine their delusion of God and Muhammad, as these are the two main offshoots of these ancient manuscripts and the source of the delusion of billions of people.

The way to change the world is to change people’s minds. As more and more people openly discuss the fact that “God” and “Allah” are completely imaginary, the world becomes a better place.

Here goes… Watch this short video:

Remember we need not abandon religion completely, but knowing what’s rational and what can be dismissed as superstition is important for us to ever find a path to truth and [real] peace on earth
