Bats in your Belfry?

I have been doing some free thinking and the mind can be both scary an intriguing at the same time.

My curiosity led me to me that the old time phrase,  “bats in your belfry”.

Am I off kilter here or could that saying be code pretty much used by past free thinkers, free from religious dogma, to describe non-believers and used for code to describe the evangelical superstitious religious people when they were trying to be polite yet (semi) direct.

Anyone with any other slant (or factual orange, er, original) information to this traditional phrase have another meaning?

I wonder…

I wonder how old that freezes

Occasional Update

The Potential Harm Done By Religion

Religious fascism and the number of fascists that are using this recent wave of dissent to enhance their influence all around the world is on the rise.

There may be an increase in the number of people that have come to realize that all religion is man-made, has no power other than what followers give them, are all false and nothing more than allegorical fairytales and stories, but that only seems to increase the most fanatical among them to be even crazier.

All religions have no more reality than any other book or article about ghosts, dead coming out of the grave, or any other thing that lies in the area of the fiction found in every religious text.

A sample:

In Nepal, women are now banished from their homes if they are menstruating or have just given birth.

In the USA a Baptist minister (monster) calls for the execution of LGBTQ.

Rick Wiles, another (American religious fanatic and an all around crazy person) says that “if you’re not a Christian, then you worship Satan” (he must not be aware of the percentage of millennials that are leaving organized religion at a record pace or even more unaware of the increase of people like me that are 100% Atheist).

Then we see Jonathan Shelly, another idiot, that says that all gamers (millennials mostly) are fat and lazy and should be put to death.

And last (today) but not least, there is the fanatical president of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, whose ideas are beyond bad and could be described as cruel and barbaric — at best. I have no specifics here — that would take a book from what I’ve seen of this Fascist and will have to wait for another day.

True Democracy

It involves a major change as to how wealth is shared.

Someone from high up in government needs to step up and educate the public on the need to grow and process hemp as an alternative to depleting our forests and other natural resources,

By turning hemp fibers (which need no pesticides) into 1000’s of renewable products from building products, to paper, clothing, and medicines.

But, of course, the high-ups don’t want this as they have no control over the profits.

The choice should be (but sadly is not) simple — either pursue this course or stand pat and do nothing while we destroy the planet with mining and drilling for fossil fuels.

Stop the FCC

Call Congress and tell your lawmakers to overturn the FCC and restore net neutrality.

Call 858-264-0403 and get connected to your representatives.

Use this script if you need to, or use your own words. If you do that, always remember that you will have to identify yourself and you should be polite and courteous.

Say: “I support Title Two net neutrality and I urge you to sign the discharge petition and vote for the Congressional Review Act ‘resolution of disapproval’ to restore net neutrality.”

Here is a [partial] list of organizations that support the StopTheFCC Coalition for you to consider.

You may like to support some of them to make sure your views are heard and the right people know how and where you stand on this very important issue:

  • 18 Million Rising
  • American Family Voices
  • Center for Media Justice
  • Color of Change
  • Common Cause
  • Daily Kos
  • Demand Progress
  • Democracy for America
  • People For the American Way
  • Progress America
  • Sum Of Us
  • The Nation
  • Win Without War

Remember this is only a partial list and there are more good organizations that deserve your support.

Are You a Racist? Republican? Or just hate people?

If you hate (or don’t like) any of the following;

Obama – Hillary – CNN – MSNBC – Immigrants – city folk – college students – Muslims – gays – transgenders – secular humanists – vegetarians – environmentalists – climate scientists – kneeling football players – blacks – or Hispanics….

You might be a racist, a fascist, blind and brainwashed by Republican lies, or just stupid.

We have the cure.

Become a Democratic Socialist.

If you cringe at the word socialist, that is the first warning sign that you have been brainwashed by right wingnut dogma.

Seriously, get the factual evidence first or you might appear to be one that prematurely assumes.

Assume: might make an “ass’ of “u” and “me”.

That is all.13239234_1194274293924216_3707211697465630655_n

Who’s taking money from payday lenders?

These Senators and HoR members are on the take from payday lenders.

They have taken these “legal bribes” and you should know if any of them are representing you.

This list is [unsurprisingly] dominated by Republicans, but if you have been paying attention, as you should, you probably expect that.

Senators on the list are:

  1. Richard Shelby (R-AL)
  2. Mike Crapo (R-ID)
  3. Pat Toomey (R-PA)
  4. Tim Scott (R-SC)

Representatives are:

  1. Jeb Hensarling (R-TX)
  2. Will Hurd (R-TX)
  3. Blain Luetkemeyer (R-MO)
  4. Patrick McHenry (R-NC)
  5. Steve Pearce (R-MN)
  6. Bruce Poliquin (R-ME)
  7. Ed Royce (R-CA)
  8. Pete Sessions (R-TX)
  9. Steve Stivers (R-OH)
  10. Kevin Yoder (R-KS)
  11. Mick Mulvaney (former Rep. now “acting director” of the CFPB)

There are (2) disappointments on the Democratic side and they deserve attention too.

They are:

  1. Rep. Alcee Hastings (D-FL)
  2. Rep. Gregory Meeks (D-NY)

A note: this is only a partial list, however,

  1. Most of them have Twitter accounts and can be reached there (search) or by phone, email, snail mail (Google them) and you can also visit their regional offices if you desire to speak to them in person.

Contact them and let them know that voting to dismantle the CFPB is not in your best interest and remind them that they work for you.

Legalize Marijuana

This is a short blog that has a big message to the traitors of the GOP and especially to the elf we all can easily hate–Jeff Sessions.

Legalizing Weed In The USA is a win-win situation and that is exactly why the traitors of the Libertarianism Is The Religion Of Psychopaths that have taken over our government through the efforts of Stop the Koch Brothers. They are true Libertarians and the GOP is owned by them. Proof of how and why is in this fantastic book, “Democracy In Chains”–by Nancy MacLean.
A book that should be mandatory reading to graduate from high school.
There are thousands of uses for hemp and marijuana that big paper producers (there’s the Koch’s again) and big pharmaceutical companies don’t want us to have because it will impede their ability to accumulate insane wealth, and the billionaire Koch’s are against it because it will hinder their ability to pollute the planet and gain more wealth than ‘god’–if he actually existed–he doesn’t.
My religion is: I’m against anything that ruins this one and only planet we have and allows the minority (think .01?% here) to accumulate more wealth than they could use in 20 generations. Greed is at the root of this evil agenda and the Koch’s are at the helm.

I stand with equality, fairness in our courts, planet earth, and majority rule.

The Attack on our Democracy

How the Koch Brothers are changing our government

Now that the Koch Brothers have [almost] achieved their dream of the wealthy and corporations controlling every aspect of our government — and have control of the [former] GOP — now completely overtaken by the Libertarian wing of said party they [the Koch’s] have upheld since the early 70’s, we are becoming their [brand] of utopia where the goals are to have limited government interference in their affairs and their ability to amass fortunes that are so vast that it allows them to become the installers of the plutocratic/theocratic government they have coveted their entire lives.

They probably lean more to the plutocratic side rather than the theocratic side. I highly doubt that either of them is devoutly religious, much like “Don the Con” that has been [illegally in my estimation] conveniently installed as their “puppet in chief”.

Their goal of dividing the country by calling people “moochers” [if they rely on any government program like Medicare, Social Security, public schools, good infrastructure and a fair and honest judicial system and more], from the makers like them, is at the doorstep.

They divide us by naming us either as “makers or takers”– the makers, of course, are the class that owes nothing to the “takers” that are only interested in sucking off the government teat. What a load of bullshit! Without the men and women that work daily at jobs that produce the very wealth they enjoy, they would not have any wealth at all.

So by dividing the voters in this manner, they accomplish the notion that all would be good for everyone if they leave the “important” decisions to them — thus the return by this administration to the [grossly failed] policies of the Reagan era — trickle down theory, as evidenced by the recent enormous tax cut that helps the wealthy only.

This gross tax cut adds [est. 1.5 trillion in the next 10 years] to our huge debt and relies on the working class to pay it off while they sit back and laugh all the way to their offshore bank accounts.

This division is the method they use — they have so far successfully convinced about 40% of the population to vote for their puppet GOP candidates, even though by doing so, they are voting against their own best interests. So if you have wondered as to how they get people, that are otherwise intelligent and thoughtful, to vote this way, this is at the very root of that dilemma.

We can stop this coup — no exaggeration — by voting out the puppets of the GOP and the handful of Blue Dog Democrats and taking our future back from this oligarchy.

We must do this to stop this assault on our Democracy and return the government back to being what the founding fathers intended–a government of the people, by the people and for the people.

Remember; it’s not the government that needs changing, it’s the people the voters elect that need to be changed.

Vote blue only.

If you’d like more insight on this subject and are willing to see the truth–I suggest you get the book– “Democracy in Chains” by Nancy MacLean. It explains it in greater detail than I can in this blog.
